We didn't need defense at shortstop today anyway.
A lineup with 6 out of 9 players whose 1st names begin with the letter J must be a record of some sort.
It's time for Bay to wake up and start hitting. Youk also needs to get aggressive early on in the count. The Sox better take advantage of this long home stand prior to the All-Star break, or the Yankees will fly right by them.
I think edward gleason thinks too much.
After directly admitting he failed to lift Wake after seven innings so he could "earn the win", someone should give Tito the day off. With the best bull pen in baseball, continuing a marginal Wakefield approaching 100 pitches into the eighth was inexcusable. This happens all to often.
Despite his best year in baseball, Wake deserves an All-Star slot. But being on a super team with so many being voted in, the likelihood is slim to none, unless . . . one or two teammates declare they will not participate. This would free up positional player slots for non-pitchers from teams otherwise shut out of completed vote tallies. How about that Tek, Uke, Pedie, et al?
