ST. LOUIS - American League manager Joe Maddon said moments ago that if Tim Wakefield gets into tonight's All-Star game it won't until later and the person catching him would be Indians backstop/first baseman Victor Martinez.

Martinez said he has never caught a knuckleballer, but said, "Bring it on. The important thing is to have fun with it."

This will be interesting to watch as Martinez has often been involved in trade rumors to Boston. Maddon said he liked what he heard when he informed Martinez he would be the one to handle Wakefield. Maddon,a former minor league catcher, said he once caught Tracy Harris, a knuckleballer for the Santa Clara Padres.

"You just have to wait on it," said Maddon. "You can't stab at it."
