David Ortiz contacted baseball’s players union today in an effort to obtain more information regarding his 2003 failed drug test, but offered no further details about yesterday’s revelation that he had tested positive for a performancing-enhancing drug.

“I don’t have too much to say about that,” Ortiz said. “I got in touch with the union today. I’m trying to find out what’s going on. When I find out what’s going on, I’ll let you guys know.”

Ortiz was asked if he was troubled by “people taking shots” at him despite a lack of information, including what drug set off his positive test.

“I don’t care,” Ortiz said. “Like I said, I’ll give you guys more info as soon as I got my stuff together.”

Ortiz was asked to elaborate on what information he wanted from the union.

“Don’t worry about it," he said. "I’ll let you guys know when I find out about it, alright?”

Ortiz turned and faced his locker. A reporter tried to further clarify that Ortiz had not received any new information. Ortiz remained silent, his back turned.
