The Red Sox have recalled right-handed pitcher Enrique Gonzalez to replace Michael Bowden on the major league roster for today's game vs. the Yankees.

Gonzalez previously was recalled by Boston on Aug. 8. He surrendered two runs over 1 2/3 innings while working in relief that day against the Yankees.

Bowden got tagged for seven earned runs on eight hits over two innings, including giving up a three-run home run to Hideki Matsui, in relief of Brad Penny in last night's 20-11 loss at Fenway Park.
