Tigers starter Armando Galarraga was scratched with a severe sore throat. Zach Miner, who threw two innings Monday and warmed up last night, will replace him. Miner got the loss Monday after allowing a sac fly to Nick Green in the seventh inning.

The Sox will also have be at less than full strength with their pitching. Jonathan Papelbon, who has thrown 2 1/3 innings over the past two days, will likely not pitch, manager Terry Francona said.
