Nice touch today at Fenway where military personnel from six branches of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom were honored before the game. Sox season ticket holders donated tickets for the game as part of the Tickets For Troops program.

Soldiers from the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division from Basra Province in Southern Iraq appeared on the video scoreboard. The family of Seth Barham of Exter, N .H. one of the members of the Basra unit, was in attendance at Fenway.

The first pitch was delivered by Paul Monti, father of Sergeant First Class Jared C. Monti of Raynham who passed away in 2006 trying to rescue fellow soldiers in Afghanistan during a battle against Taliban insurgents. SFC Monti is the recipient of the Medal of Honor, the Nation's highest military honor.

Former Sox general manager Lou Gorman, a Navy veteran, represented the Red Sox during the ceremony.
