(Top 9, Chicago 9-4)

Nick Green will remain on the mound to start the ninth. Green walked one batter in the eighth.

(Bottom 8, Chicago 9-4)

With Boston scoring two runs in the eighth, Randy Williams is taking over for Octavio Dotel. Meanwhile, Hideki Okajima is warming.

(Bottom 8, Chicago 9-3)

Looks like Nick Green will start the ninth. Nobody up in the Boston bullpen.

(Bottom 8, Chicago 9-2)

Jose Contreras, roughed up as a starter in the first game of the series, is warming in the bullpen. Contreras was pulled from the rotation after his start on Monday.

(Top 8, Chicago 9-2)

Nick Green will start the eighth, taking over for Ramon Ramirez. This is Green's first big-league pitching appearance.

(Bottom 7, Chicago 9-2)

Nick Green is warming for the Red Sox. This could get interesting.

(Bottom 7, Chicago 9-2)

John Danks is out, Octavio Dotel in.

(Top 7, Chicago 9-2)

Ramon Ramirez to start the seventh. Manny Delcarmen pitched two shutout innings in relief of Junichi Tazawa.

(Top 6, Chicago 9-2)

Ugly end to the bottom of the fifth. A John Danks wild pitch allows Jacoby Ellsbury to take third. But Ellsbury, trying to go home when Dustin Pedroia strays from first, is taken out (2-3-4-2). Rocco Baldelli replaces Ellsbury in center. Ellsbury was slow to get up after being tagged out.

(Bottom 5, Chicago 9-2)

Back-to-back solo homers give the Red Sox two runs. Alex Gonzalez, also on a 2-1 count, pops one over the Wall.

(Bottom 5, Chicago 9-1)

Boston on the board, as J.D. Drew hooks a 2-1 pitch into right field for a solo shot.

(Top 5, Chicago 9-0)

Manny Delcarmen to start the fifth. Not exactly a start to remember for Junichi Tazawa (10 hits, nine earned runs, 85 pitches).

(Top 4, Chicago 8-0)

Another run for the White Sox. Jim Thome doubles in Paul Konerko (J.D. Drew dives but can't get the ball). Manny Delcarmen back up in the bullpen.

(Top 4, Chicago 7-0)

Junichi Tazawa will start the fourth. He's not getting much help from his bats (one hit allowed by John Danks).

(Top 3, Chicago 7-0)

John Farrell out for his first visit after Alexei Ramirez's two-out double into left. Manny Delcarmen is starting to warm up.

(Top 3, Chicago 7-0)

Not looking like Junichi Tazawa's night. Carlos Quentin jerked an 0-1 pitch over the Wall for a two-run homer. Nobody warming yet.

(Top 2, Chicago 4-0)

Things have turned sour for Junichi Tazawa with two outs. Jayson Nix doubled in Jim Thome and Carlos Quentin. Scott Podsednik drives in Nix with a single up the middle.

(Top 2, Chicago 1-0)

One out and one run in for Chicago. Junichi Tazawa has gone to a full count to the last three hitters.

(Top 2, 0-0)

Bases loaded, zero outs. Carlos Quentin is OK after taking a 3-2 fastball off the bill of his helmet.

(Bottom 1, 0-0)

Breezy 1-2-3 for Junichi Tazawa. This afternoon, Terry Francona said Tazawa is good at working quickly and throwing strikes. Sounds just about right so far.
