The initial report on Jon Lester is reason for a sigh of relief: X-rays of his right knee taken at Yankee Stadium were negative, and his official status is day-to-day. The quick diagnosis is a contusion of the right quadriceps.

  1. We can't take this series too serious, but haven't said that we should have pride. haven't that SCUMBAG STEROID user steal 3 bases in a meaningless game shows u what he is made of.

  1. Sox real problem is Tito's reluctance to put in a catcher who can at least make the runner pause before stealing. Although Tek could throw out Orlando Cepeda (circa 1974) and Frank Howard no problem, I think Mike Lowell could steal 1/2 times against him.

CMON TITO, put in one of the kids who can at least hold them close!

  1. No doubt Lest is a big part of the postseason, but people were ready to jump off the Zakim Bridge before we even knew what had actually happened to the guy.

  1. Lets hope Lester will be ok and will be able to play in the post season. He didn't look his best tonight, however, I look forward to his winning ways in the playoffs.

  1. Don't worry playoff tickets are sold out and "fans" will sing the pedophile song in the 8th inning.

  1. Since the last time the Yankees won a World Series, they've spent nearly half a billion dollars more on payroll than the Sox and have ZERO championships.

This year will be no different. Curse of the Bambino has been reversed thanks to the greedy Yankees tearing down the House that Ruth built!

  1. Hey Neil, maybe everyone would chill out if there wasn't one guy (you) constantly (3x already) telling everyone not to freak out. So channeling my inner Neil, stop freaking out about your perception that everyone is freaking out.

  1. 11:40pm tonight, postgame interview .... Jon Lester per NESN

Q: What was your first thought when you got hit
    JL: It hurt

Q: Nothing broken? Were you hit on the bone
JL: No, it was the side of my knee on my muscle, all xrays came back fine, it hurts it is swollen but no worse now than it was when it happened.

Q: Were you thinking it was season ending?
JL: Not sure what you want me to tell you guys, it hurt, whenever you get hit by a battered ball it hurts, it has happened to me before and will again, it's part of pitching

Q: Are you thinking you are do pitching for the regular season
JL: No, I am inline to make my next start, I'll know more tomorrow but I feel like I should be able to get ready to make my next start on Thursday and that is what I am focused on

  1. The Minnesota Twins don't want to lose catcher Joe Mauer(notes), but that's exactly what could happen after next season. The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox are apparently prepared to throw a lot of dough in his direction when he becomes a free agent, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
