Reliever Hideki Okajima, experiencing soreness in his right side, returned to Boston on Friday and will not be with the Red Sox this weekend. Okajima hurt his side while pitching in Kansas City, and he will receive accupuncture treatment in Boston.

"We just don't want something that is sore to end up turning into an injury," Francona said.
