All tied up after five innings

Posted by Peter Abraham, Globe Staff October 29, 2009 09:50 PM

It's hard to say whether this game is scintillating or sleep-inducing. It has been a little of both.

Both pitchers have been nibbling but it's 1-1 after five innings. Burnett has allowed four hits and struck out six. Pedro has given up three hits and fanned six. Burnett has thrown 86 pitches and Martinez 83.

Joe Girardi's lineup change has not paid off yet as Jerry Hairston Jr. is 0 for 2 with a pop-up and a strikeout.
