Hazen interviews with Padres

PHILADELPHIA - Sox general manager Theo Epstein has confirmed that respected Sox farm director Mike Hazen has interviewed with new Padres general manager Jed Hoyer for a top front office post which would likely be an assistant GM position.

It was thought that Hoyer, a former Epstein assistant named the Padres new GM last week, would take a Red Sox exec or two with him to San Diego. It's not known at this point whether Hazen has accepted the position. Hazen has not responded to inquiries.
