Depending on who you want to believe, John Lackey has agreed to a five-year deal with the Red Sox for $85 million (so says Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated) or $82.5 million (so says Jayson Stark of ESPN).

Either way, it appears to be either done or close to it. Players don't fly to a city for a physical unless they're planning to sign.

Now the question is whether the Sox can afford one more big-ticket item and who that money would be for, a third baseman or a left fielder?

Just for fun, here is how things stand now:

Rotation: Lester, Beckett, Lackey, Matsuzaka, Buchholz/Wakefield

Bullpen: Papelbon, Bard, Okajima, Bonser, Delcarmen, The Original Ramon Ramirez, TBA.

Lineup:

Ellsbury CF

Pedroia 2B

Youkilis 1B

Martinez C

Ortiz DH

Drew RF

Scutaro SS

Somebody 3B

Hermida/Somebody LF
