A Red Sox source said the story was not true, however. Put away your passports.

MLB has played games overseas before and wants to again. If baseball ever does stage a series in Australia, the Red Sox figure to be be one of the teams.

Vice president of international scouting Craig Shipley is Australian as is Pacific Rim scouting coordinator Jon Deeble, who doubles as manager of the Australia national team.
