According to a report from WEEI's Rob Bradford, the Red Sox have signed catcher Gustavo Molina to a minor league contract.

Molina, who is not related to the brothers Bengie, Javier, and Yadier, all catchers, played in 72 games for the Washington Nationals' Triple-A team in 2009. The 27-year-old last appeared in the major leagues with the Mets in 2008 when he played two games. The Venezula native spent seven years in the minor leagues with the White Sox organization before making his major league debut in 2007.
