Daisuke Matsuzaka was limited to two innings today because the Sox plan to pitch him three innings in relief of Josh Beckett on Monday.
Matsuzaka threw only one of his 25 pitches better than 90 mph today but admitted afterward he was operating at only 70-75 percent.
The righthander said he did not know how many games it would take him to get to 100 percent. The Sox usually want their starters to get 25 innings during spring training. Matsuzaka is at four, so it will be a while before he is ready to join the rotation.
