Top of the 6th, Blue Jays 2, Red Sox 0

Jon Lester is out. He threw his expected six innings, though they were complicated by three errors by the Red Sox. (They were committed by Marco Scutaro, Jorge Jimenez, and Lester.) Here's his line: 6 innings, 6 hits, 2 runs, 0 earned runs, 2 walks, 5 Ks. 93 pitches, 54 for strikes.

Jonathan Papelbon is now in the game.

Here's the update on Lowell: He left the game with a left knee contusion. We'll let you know when we have more.

Bottom of the 3rd, Blue Jays 1, Red Sox 0

The Blue Jays got on the board first, when Mike McCoy dropped a single just in front of an onrushing Josh Reddick in center. Then he moved to third on a misfired pickoff throw to first that went for an E1. McCoy came home on an infield hit to shortstop by Brad Emaus that he just beat out.

Bottom of the 1st, Red Sox 0, Blue Jays 0

Mike Lowell just fouled a ball off his left leg (or possibly left knee). He dropped to the ground immediately, clearly in a significant amount of pain. Trainer Mike Reinold and Terry Francona came out to see him, and he stayed down for a couple of minutes. He managed to walk off the field, supported on both sides, but had a major limp. Jorge Jimenez came in to pinch hit for Lowell, and promptly got hit by a pitch. A trainer came back out, but Jimenez appears to be fine. We'll get an update on Lowell as soon as we have one.
