The Society for American Baseball Research has included Red Sox senior advisor Bill James in its inaugural class of recipients of the Henry Chadwick Award, which was established in November to honor the game’s great researchers — historians, statisticians, annalists, and archivists — for their invaluable contributions to making baseball the game that links America’s present with its past.

See the release for the complete class. Suffice it to say, James is the Babe Ruth of baseball research.
