X-rays taken today on Dustin Pedroia's left wrist came back clean. He will take batting practice tomorrow and likely play on Friday.

"It's nice to hear that," Terry Francona said.

Pedroia is in Fort Myers. Part of his agenda today will be filming a Dunkin' Donuts commercial.

He suffered a mild left wrist sprain in the first inning Tuesday night against the Twins after diving and landing awkwardly to field a ball hit by Denard Span.

UPDATE, 11:54 a.m.: Via Amalie Benjamin in Fort Myers, here are comments from Pedroia:

"I rolled my wrist. I'll take BP tomorrow, and then play the next day. That's it," he said. "I'm good. There's nothing. It's more spring training. It hurt at the time, and then they just took me out of the game. No big deal."

Pedroia still had some pain today, but felt better.

"It's sore. I mean I landed, I just landed weird. When I tried to get up I couldn't really get up," he said. "Then I tried to throw it and I almost killed our dugout. But I'm fine. I'll be all right."

Pedroia said had it been the regular season, he would have stayed in the game. He was scheduled for today off regardless.

"All the bones are there. They're all there," he said. "I just iced it today, that's it. It's just sore. No big deal. It's OK. We'll be all right. I'm a quick healer. ... I don't have that many bones, so I heal quick."
