Player A this season: 28 at-bats, .143/.226/.250, 1 extra-base hit, 13 strikeouts, 2 RBI

Player B this season: 26 at-bats, .154/.241/.269, 3 extra-base hits, 13 strikeouts, 2 RBI

Player A is J.D. Drew. Player B is David Ortiz.

So why does everybody want Ortiz sent to a retirement home and Drew is getting a free pass?

It's certainly possible if not probable that Ortiz is deep into an irreversible decline. But we should be fair to the guy. He's not the only one off to a brutal start.
