CC Sabathia just walked across the outfield to a chorus of boos from the crowd.

Victor Martinez and Jason Varitek are playing long toss and Josh Beckett is getting loose before going into the bullpen.

7:41 p.m.: We just had a flyover from by two F-16 Fighting Falcon jets from the 158th Fighter Wing of the Vermont Air National Guard. They had to do the flyover before the anthem for safety reasons.

The Yankees are being introduced now. People are booing only the guys they have heard of. No reaction for Alfredo Aceves but Joba Chamberlain hears it. People somewhat cheered Mariano Rivera. How can you hate Mariano Rivera, after all?

Plenty of boos for Mark Teixeira and Alex Rodriguez. But nothing vicious.

UPDATE, 7:48 p.m.: The Red Sox are being introduced now. Johnny Pesky was introduced after the trainers and staff guys. Now come the coaches and players.

UPDATE, 7:51 p.m.: Huge ovation for Mike Lowell as he tips his cap.

Oddly, not much notice for John Lackey. Then again, this is not a usual crowd. Lots of Opening Game phonies here. The real fans will show up later on when it's not as cool to be here.

UPDATE, 7:53 p.m.: Starters being introduced now. Mike Cameron hugged Terry Francona. David Ortiz and Alex Rodriguez exchanged pleasantries. Now comes the anthem.

UPDATE, 7:57 p.m.: Lots of fireworks with the anthem. Keri Hilson did a good version. ... Here comes Pedro out of The Wall to throw out the first pitch. He's in a Sox jersey.

Varitek will catch the pitch. Pedro waving to the crowd, really soaking it up. Chants of "Pedro, Pedro, Pedro."

Pedro keeps pointing to his heart. He's hugging Johnny Pesky now. Nice scene.

UPDATE, 8:02 p.m.: Petey now hugging assorted Red Sox around the Red Sox.

Steven Tyler will do God Bless America in the seventh inning.

At the moment, there's s 5-year-old kid from Tennessee doing the pregame Herb Brooks speech from Miracle. What that has has to do with the Red Sox opener, I have no idea. Apparently he got a lot of YouTube views.

Johnny Pesky just said "play ball" and we're about to get going.
