The Red Sox beat the Royals 8-6 yesterday. But amid all the offense, there were a few signs of trouble according to Amalie Benjamin.

David Ortiz struck out four times and according to hitting coach Dave Magadan, a combination of physical and mental issues are to blame for his slump.

The notebook has Jacoby Ellsbury avoiding a more serious injury, Terry Francona not sorry to see the Metrodome go, J.D. Drew out with a stiff neck, Bill Hall getting into a game and Mike Lowell not going across the line with John Lackey.
