Let's stick with the catching situation. The 2010 season has so far not been much of a salary drive for Victor Martinez, has it?

Along with his well-chronicled inability to throw out base-stealers (1 for 27), Martinez is hitting a pedestrian .247 with one home run and five RBI in his 77 at-bats.

5007.jpgMartinez has one RBI in the last 14 games, no extra-base hits since April 15 and his lone home run came on April 6. He also has grounded in eight double plays, the most in baseball.

Martinez has struggled hitting left-handed (11 of 55) and is hitting .176 away from Fenway Park. A .188 average with runners in scoring position accounts for the lack of RBI.
