State of Sox: After a 17-8 win, better than after a sweep at the hands of the Orioles at Camden Yards. The Sox seemed to come out of their doldrums and got much needed home cooking. Interesting that Mike Lowell, 4-for-4, is not in tonight's lineup, but David Ortiz is. The Sox have now won 8 out of their last 13 games. More importantly, they have thrown out their last seven runners trying to steal.

More on Lester: A 7-inning one-hitter against Toronto (11Ks) in his last outing on April 28th. He's thrown 12 2/3 scoreless innings with five hits and 18 strikeouts in his last two starts vs. the Angels. He didn't face them at all last year in the regular season and last faced them April 23, 2008, allowing four runs on nine hits over five innings in a 6-4 Sox loss to the Angels at Fenway.

Who's Hot: J.D. Drew has a hit in 10 of his last 11 games at a .364 clip, with four homers and 15 RBIs...

Sox vs. Santana: Beltre (.200, 8-40, 2 HR, 7 RBIs); Drew (.182, 2-11); Lowell (.273, 3-11, 1 RBIs); Martinez (.500, 5-10, 1 HR, 3 RBIs); Ortiz (.333, 5-15, 1 HR, 3 RBIs); Varitek (.000, 0-14); Youkilis (.500, 1-2, 1 RBIs).

Angels vs. Lester: Abreu (.308 4-13, 3RBI); Aybar (.667, 2-3, 2 RBI); Hunter (.667, 2-3); Izturis (.375, 3-8, 2 RBI); Kendrick (.400, 2-5); Matsui (.250, 1-4); Napoli (.000, 0-3); Rivera (.143, 1-7, 1 RBI); Willits (1.000, 2-2).
