Terry Francona just said on WEEI that David Ortiz would be the designated hitter tonight. They're sticking with him against the righthander.

Bill Hall will play center field. He's 3 for 9 against Joel Pineiro with a home run. Everybody else is the same as last night.

UPDATE, 12:26 p.m.: Will Carroll of Baseball Prospectus, who has impeccable sources when it comes to injuries, just Tweeted that there's a chance Jacoby Ellsbury will play against the Yankees this weekend although not likely.

He took batting practice on the field yesterday and the lingering pain in his ribs wasn't there. He'll repeat that process today. Ellsbury hasn't faced live pitching since April 11. You would think he'd need at least one rehab game in the minors, no? Or maybe not.

Regardless, this is a good sign for Jacoby and Mike Cameron is pushing to play, too.
