Drew hopes to avoid DL

J.D. Drew just spoke to reporters after getting an MRI. The doctors haven't seen it yet.

Drew described his right hamstring strain as "manageable" and believes he can stay off the disabled list.

The question becomes how long the Sox are willing to play short-handed. With Mike Lowell having little role, the roster is short already. Playing six straight games in NL parks starting Tuesday will require a more versatile bench.
