Drew has 'mild' hamstring strain
One bit of news out of the clubhouse:
J.D. Drew had an MRI and was diagnosed with a mild strain of his left hamstring. He's day-to-day. Terry Francona called the news "encouraging." That would suggest Drew will not end up on the disabled list.
In June, Drew strained his right hamstring and was limited to two pinch-hitting appearances over seven games. On his way out, J.D. said he was hopeful he would be able to play over the weekend.
