State of the Sox: The Sox have lost three straight and four of their last six. They have not lost four straight since a five-game losing streak from April 15-19.

Beltre bummer: Adrian Beltre is 2 of 18 this month with one run scored and one RBI.

Double their fun: The Sox have 200 doubles. No other team has more than 171.

OBP machine: Daniel Nava has reached base safely in 18 of the 20 games he has played.

Good pickup: Eric Patterson is 6 of 20 with four extra-base hits and three RBIs and six runs scored in five games.

Favorite foe: Wakefield is 20-5 with a 3.45 ERA in 45 career appearances against the Rays, 32 of them starts. He hasn't faced them since May 2, 2009 when he allowed five runs in five innings in a game the Sox won 10-6.

Wakefield is 10-3, 3.12 in 24 games at Tropicana Field. Wakefield has won more games here than any other park outside of Fenway.

Price is right: The tough lefty is 1-1, 4.76 in two career starts against the Red Sox, both of them coming last season.

On the iPod right now: Bankrobber by The Clash.

Back with more later.
