Update: Just told Jed Lowrie is due here in Oakland. Interesting to see what the corresponding move might be. The Sox passed on bringing back Nick Green feeling Lowrie was about ready to go.

Victor Martinez just did some catching and throwing under the supervision of bullpen coach Gary Tuck. Martinez didn't seem to have a problem catching with the guard on his left thumb which is shielding his healing broken left thumb. We'll get word in a while on how he feels.

Josh Beckett also did a side session to get ready for his Friday start in Seattle.

Oakland GM Billy Beane indicated he has not engaged in any talks with Theo Epstein regarding a reliever.

We'll have more in a while.
