Manny Ramirez went on trade waivers today, but the one name who also hit the waiver wire who could be of interest to Boston is Toronto lefty reliever, Scott Downs.

He's been atop Boston's wish list from the start, but the Sox couldn't work out a deal for him at the non-waiver trade deadline. The Jays put him on trade waivers today and it would be shocking if the Red Sox didn't place a claim. The question is whether the Jays' demands for him come down? Or, would another team with a worst record beat Boston to the punch? Downs will be a free agent following the season.
