The annual WEEI and NESN Radio-Telethon ends at midnight tonight and the hope is to raise $5 million.
Times are tough for a lot of people. But there are always those less fortunate and anything you can do would be appreciated. If everybody who reads Extra Bases kicked in a few bucks, we could help make a difference.
A big part of the reason I came back to Massachusetts was to spend more time with my 10-year-old niece and 5-year-old nephew. Giving to The Jimmy Fund feels like the right thing to do. Trust me when I tell you, you'll good about it.
There are several ways you can contribute:
* Call 1-877-738-1234
* You can donate on-line
* Or you can text the word KCancer to 20222 to donate $10.00.
Virtually every Red Sox player, going back to Ted Williams, has helped this cause. Even George Steinbrenner used to call in a pledge every year. This is one team we should all join.
So what do you say, readers of Extra Bases? I just sent in a contribution and I hope you do, too. If you do, throw a comment on the blog to let us know. Just who you are and where you're from will suffice. Maybe we can start a little something and do a good thing.
I hope all the regulars here will do their part. Let's hear from you.
