The Red Sox have offered salary arbitration to free agent third baseman Adrian Beltre, catcher Victor Martinez and infielder Felipe Lopez.

Bill Hall, Mike Lowell and Jason Varitek were not offered.

The Red Sox can now get compensation for Beltre and Martinez, both type A free agents, and Lopez, a type B free agent. The Sox would receive two draft picks for Beltre and Martinez and one for Lopez.

Players offered salary arbitration have until November 30 to accept or decline that offer.

Those players not offered arbitration can still sign with the Red Sox.

The Red Sox likely did not offer Varitek arbitration because he would have accepted it and received a raise from the $3 million he made last season. Their hope could be to sign him to a cheaper deal or to simply let him go.
