Max Ramirez era comes to an end

The Cubs claimed Max Ramiez off waivers from the Red Sox, which opened room on the 40-man roster for newly signed Hideki Okajima.

Ramirez had been claimed off waivers last Wednesday from Texas.

Ramirez was out of minor-league options and seemingly had little chance of making the team out of spring training barring injury.
