Nick Cafardo was first with the news that the Red Sox had agreed to terms to Hideki Okajima. Now, via Jerry Crasnick of ESPN, we have some details.

Okajima had a one-year deal for $1.75 million with incentives that could gain him an additional $550,000 based largely on appearances. There also is a provision that would allow him to become a free agent after the season.

Okajima took a $1 million pay cut in base salary from last season, which was the worst of his career. The Red Sox view the 35-year-old lefty as a specialist now that Daniel Bard and Bobby Jenks are in place as the primary set-up men.
