Jonathan Papelbon and Jacoby Ellsbury, who were tendered contracts back on Dec. 2, have yet to agree to terms with the Red Sox.

They are considered signed players. The next step in the arbitration process comes tomorrow when the sides exchange proposed salaries. Hearings start Feb. 1.

You can expect a flurry of signings today as most teams would rather not get to the point of exchanging figures.

In other baseball news, Brian Fuentes is close to signing with the Athletics, another team building an outstanding bullpen. The Yankees are reportedly close to signing Andruw Jones as their fourth outfielder.
