FORT MYERS, Fla. A few of the pitchers threw simulated games today, facing minor leaguers on the back field.

Bobby Jenks was the last one up on the mound and his first pitch was lined off the wall by Brent Dlugach, a AAA infielder.

Jenks' next pitch hit Dlugach right in the backside. Terry Francona was cracking up.

Jenks, of course, denied any ill will.

"I'm not there for them. They're there for us now. If somebody gets in the way when I'm trying to work inside, that's part of it," he said.

Once a closer, always a closer. Bobby said would be ready for a game next week. He usually gets 8-10 appearances in spring training, ideally one or two of them for two innings to get stretched out.
