FORT MYERS, Fla. - Good morning from Fort Myers.

The fog here is the worst yet, but players have managed to make their way to the batting cages for early hitting. It's interesting to note that former major leaguer Chili Davis will be the Triple A hitting coach and he seems like a pretty fun guy for the hitters to take instruction from.

Shortstop phenom Jose Iglesias is one of the hitters. He was beaming about the comments Alex Rodriguez gave me in Tampa two days ago. Iglesias was thrilled to have been invited to work out with A-Rod at his Miami gym and A-Rod gushed about Iglesias's potential. Peter Gammons and I were discussing the other day what a great mentor A-Rod is to young players.
