Good morning from Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. — According to the weather app, it's headed all the way to 83 here in the Fort today. Sweet.

The position players will have their physicals today and then go through some testing inside the facility. A few of the guys will head outside to get some work in. But there probably won't be much in the way of batting practice.

Carl Crawford will speak to the media today, too. To learn more about the new left fielder check out this feature in the Globe from Sunday.

The first full-squad workout is tomorrow.

Meanwhile, here's a little tip for you young sportswriters out there: Never confuse your sunscreen with shaving cream. The Banana Boat can is orange. So is the Gillette Fusion can. I think I need to get more sleep.

On the plus side, heard Springsteen doing "She's The One" live from The Main Point in 1975 this morning. Good tune to get going to.

In case you missed it, Uncle Leo died. Presumably when he got to the Pearly Gates he said, "Hello!"
