FORT MYERS, Fla. There are 25 players or so stretching in center field as I write this. It's a quiet morning at City of Palms Park with half the team on a bus to Lakeland to face the Tigers.

A few notes for you:

The rotation is setting up this way:

Today: Daisuke Matsuzaka
Wednesday: Jon Lester
Thursday: John Lackey
Friday: Clay Buchholz (with Tim Wakefield in the night game)

Josh Beckett, presumably, will start on Saturday. I'll check with him later on.

Dan Wheeler will pitch two innings in a minor league game tomorrow. Many relievers like to get two innings in at some point in the spring just to get their arms stretched out a bit. With innings hard to come by in games, they often go to the minor league side.

Clay Buchholz has a remote-controlled helicopter-type device that he has been flying around the clubhouse. If this were last year, it would have hit somebody and put them them on the disabled list for two months.

UPDATE, 1:43 p.m.: Yep, Beckett on Saturday.
