FORT MYERS, Fla. - Adrian Gonzalez' agent, John Boggs, is due into Fort Myers tonight.

Boggs characterized the nature of his visit as "just a meeting to touch base with Theo (Epstein) and discuss the progress of Adrian."

Both sides have been very quiet about the subject of a contract extension.

There's been two schools of thought - one that the contract is already done and just awaiting the start of the season to announce it so it doesn't count against Boston's luxury tax, and yet another view that parameters are in place but no actual agreement has been reached.

The Red Sox just completed a batting practice and fielding session here.

Felix Doubront threw 30 pitches and Bobby Jenks 17 in a simulated game on the back field of the main stadium. Daniel Bard and Jonathan Papelbon will pitch in a minor league game this afternoon. Jenks said, "Everything felt great." Jenks said he's making progress.
