Showalter reached out to Francona

SARASOTA, Fla. — Terry Francona said earlier today that he was "aggravated" by the comments made about Theo Epstein by Orioles manager Buck Showalter.

Showalter told Baltimore reporters that he understood why Francona would feel that way. He also revealed that he called Francona before the game.

“I talked to Terry a little bit before the game. I would be [aggravated], too," he said. “I just felt like I owed him a call. I know Terry and I like him a lot. I have a lot of respect for him.”
