Today is Jackie Robinson Day and the Sox will all wear No. 42 in memory of the player who broke baseball's shameful color line in 1947.
Terry Francona had what I thought were some excellent comments about how Robinson should be remembered:
"What he did transcends way past baseball. I know thereís always a celebration of his life and what he did. I hope maybe we learn a little bit and we donít get too carried away with the fact that weíre treating people equal. I kind of hope itís a little bit of a reminder what we did wrong as opposed to patting ourselves on the back."
