The Yankees are being introduced now. Mariano Rivera received a nice round of applause. Joba Chamberlain was booed as was Joe Girardi and the starting lineup.

The new scoreboards (which are very nice) are a big part of the show. The Red Sox came out to the first base line as a team and are being introduced now.

Big cheers for Tim Wakefield. No boos yet. Johnny Pesky is here, which is great. He did not get down to spring training.

Just had a moment of silence for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan and Lou Gorman, the former Sox GM who passed away last week.

Taps was played in honor of Mr. Gorman. Then the Navy band played the National Anthem. There was a flyover by four F-16 fighter jets from the Vermont Air National Guard.

Carl Yastrzemski is throwing out the first pitch.
