It has been my experience that you can learn a lot about life by watching "Bull Durham" every single chance you get.
And so we'll close out the blog tonight with these words from Deke, the third baseman of the Durham Bulls:
"We need a night off just to stop our losing streak. We need a rainout."
The Sox didn't need Crash Davis turning on the sprinklers tonight. Mother Nature handled that. Maybe a win streak is next, just like in the movies. Although it would be cool if Terry Francona threw a bunch of bats in the shower and called them lollygaggers.
Deke, by the way, was played by Danny Gans. He went on to become a big-time entertainer in Las Vegas at the Mirage and the Encore before passing away in 2009.
