Red Sox chairman Tom Werner's name has been mentioned as a potential owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the aftermath of Major League Baseball's decision to take control of the team from the embattled Frank McCourt.

Werner, however, says there is nothing to it.

"I cannot be more definitive than this," said Werner, who owned the San Diego Padres with a group of partners from 1990-94. "I am very happy to be John Henry's business partner. We're engaged in some very exciting situations.

"I'll say what I've always said: I am very happy in Boston, I have no interest in pursuing that opportunity. And that's my answer now and that will be my answer in the future."
