Why Lowrie is not yet among the leaders

A few readers have emailed to asked why Jed Lowrie is not listed among the league leaders despite hitting .400.

To qualify for the league leaders, a player must average at least 3.1 plate appearances per each game his team has played. The Red Sox have played 22 games, so a player would need 68 plate appearances. Lowrie has 59.
