Tickets are now on sale for the 2011 Picnic in the Park, the annual charitable fundraiser hosted by the Red Sox Players and their wives benefitting two of the Red Sox Foundation’s charitable programs, the Red Sox Scholars and Red Sox RBI and Rookie League inner city youth baseball programs.
The event will be held one hour after the conclusion of the Sunday, July 24 Red Sox-Mariners game. Fans will enjoy a BBQ picnic on the field at Fenway Park, a chance to get autographs from current Red Sox players, as well as the opportunity to bid on unique items and experiences donated by the Red Sox players and their wives during a live auction.
The master of ceremonies for the Picnic in the Park is award winning actor and comedian, Mike O’Malley.
General admission Picnic tickets are $350 per person and include a new blanket in a gift bag, dinner on Fenway Park’s outfield, access to the player autograph session, and entertainment.
MVP tickets are available at $500 per person. They include a bleacher ticket to the Sunday, July 24 Red Sox game prior to the Picnic, the chance to take your picture with the 2004 and 2007 World Series Trophies, a baseball autographed by a Red Sox legend, as well as free entry into a MVP-only raffle to win Green Monster tickets, 2012 Opening Day tickets and other special prizes.
To protect the field, only a limited number of Picnic tickets are available. Advance purchase is required and because this is a charitable fundraiser, much of the ticket price is tax deductible. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets early as the Picnic usually sells out in advance.
