Sebastian Smee, the Globe's art critic, won a Pulitzer Prize in April. This is a smart guy and today he wrote about the Citgo sign and rates it as art.

It's an interesting piece. Broaden your horizons and check it out.

When I was a kid, my dad told me the Citgo sign meant "See It Go" because that was the direction where so many home runs went at Fenway Park. I figured out he was fibbin' but every time a ball flies over the wall, I remember that.
