Notes: It's a game A-Rod would love as a pair of aces take the mound. Beckett has a 1.85 ERA in his last five starts with one win to show for it. But the Sox are 4-1 in those games. He held the Mariners to one run over seven innings on July 23. Beckett is 4-1, 2.87 in eight career starts against Seattle, 2-0, 1.86 in three starts at Safeco Field. ... King Felix is 4-2, 3.39 in 10 starts against the Sox. In two starts this season he has allowed eight ER on 17 hits over 13.1 innings with five walks and 12 strikeouts. ... Crawford is hitting .297 with a .340 OBP since coming off the DL 23 games ago. ... With a win tonight the Sox would be 30 games over .500 for the first time since they ended the 2007 season 96-66. ... The Sox are 3-1 on their road trip. ... The Sox are 15-8 against the AL West, 5-2 against Seattle. ... The Sox have 32 come from behind victories.

Stat of the Day: Ortiz needs one home run to have eight seasons with 25 or more as a member of the Red Sox. Only Ted Williams, with 14, has had more.

Song of the Day: "This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race" by Fall Out Boy.
