Keegan Bradley, who won the PGA Championship on Aug. 14 at Altanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Ga., said it was "a dream come true'' to be able to throw out the first pitch of tonight's opener of the three-game set between the Red Sox and Yankees at Fenway Park.

"It's unbelievable to be here in Fenway and to be able to throw out the first pitch is a dream come true,'' said Bradley, 25, a native of Woodstock, Vt., who played his senior year at Hopkinton (Mass.) High where he was a Globe All-Scholastic. "I'm just trying to pinch myself."

Bradley said he practiced diligently on his delivery.

"As soon as I pulled into the ballpark, my hands started to sweat,'' he said. "I got butterflies in my stomach. I'll be very nervous. I practiced two days ago and I threw too long and now my arm feels like it’s going to fall off."

Bradley's nerves, though, were tempered by thoughts of the damage Hurricane Irene did to his native Vermont over the weekend.

"I feel for everybody and I've seen a lot of pictures," said Bradley, who is in town this week to tee it up at the Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC Boston. "I'm going to try to do what I can to help and I'm really just thinking about them every day, every single day. I feel for those people because I lived right there, where all that damage was done."
