SEATTLE — One of the cool little touches at Safeco Field are the baseball-themed quotations that decorate the gates to the park.

Here's one from Donald Hall's "Fathers Playing Catch With Sons."

Not to get all George Will on you, but baseball truly is the sport that translates best to literature.

By the way, make plans to come out for for a series next season. Seattle is a wonderful city and Safeco is one of the best places to come watch a game. The people here are friendly, there's plenty to see and do during the day and there are hotels you can walk to the game from.
